  • There, you have to create your account. Log in to proceed.
  • Now get the form and start filling it out online. Add all the relevant data and upload the scanned documents.
  • Next, you will deposit an admission processing fee of R150 at NEDBANK Branch No. 145209, account name: Department of Health, account no. 1452054975 and deposit reference: WCCN Surname & ID. 
  • Submit your post now. If your application was correct, you will receive an email titled “Application Received”. But in case there are some mistakes or data is incorrect, you will receive an email with the subject “UNSUCCESSFUL”. 
  • So, submit complete and correct information.

Who Can Apply?

The eligibility criteria for the applicants of various courses are as follows;

One Year Higher Certificate in Nursing (R169)

    • First Additional Language English code 3
    • Mathematics code 2 orMathematical Literacy code 3
    • Home Language code 3
    • Life Science code 3 or Physical Science code 2
    • Minimum total score 24

Diploma in Nursing (R171)

    • First Additional Language: English code 4
    • Home Language code 4
    • Mathematics code 3 or Mathematical Literacy code 4
    • Life Science code 4
    • Minimum total score of 24

Bachelor of Nursing & Midwifery (R174)

    • First Additional Language English code 4
    • Home language Code 4
    • Mathematics Code 4 or Mathematics Literacy Code 5
    • Life Science code 4 or Physical Science code 4
    • Minimum total APS score of 27

Advanced Diploma in Midwifery (R1497)

    • Proof of current registration as a General Nurse at NQF level 6
    • Diploma (Bridging) in Nursing (General or Psychiatric Nursing)
    • Proof of registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a student for the duration of the study period.
    • Students must maintain their registration as Registered Nurses as well as registration as student midwives.

Postgraduate Diploma Programmes (R635)

    • Relevant 4-year Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 8, R174)
    • Relevant Legacy Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7, R425) / 4-year Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery offered under Regulation 425 of 22 February 1985 as amended.
    • A Diploma in Nursing – General Nurse (R.171) with Advanced Diploma in Midwifery (R.1497) (NQF level 7)
    • 2-year Diploma (Bridging course) leading to registration as a General or Psychiatric Nurse offered under Regulation 683 of 14 April 1989 as amended, followed by 1-year Diploma in Midwifery offered under Regulation 254 of 14 February 1975 as amended or 4-year Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery offered under Regulation 425 of 22 February 1985 as amended.
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience, inclusive of a year of community service, as a Professional Nurse or General Nurse and Midwife. According to SANC regulation R 635 4(3).
    • Applicants must be Registered Professional Nurses registered with the SANC.

Documents Needed
